Gas Engineer
Job Summary
The Gas Engineer will be responsible for carrying out pre work gas safety checks and safe isolation procedures to enable other trades to complete their works safely. Once those works are finished, the engineer will return to complete post work gas checks, ensuring full compliance with safety standards and reinstating supply where appropriate. The role involves working across a variety of schemes throughout the Northeast region.
Daily Responsibility
Conduct pre-work gas safety inspections on domestic or commercial installations
Perform safe isolation of gas systems to allow follow-on trades to work safely.
Complete post-work gas checks, reinstating supply once all safety requirements are met.
Identify and report any defects, risks, or non-compliance issues.
Maintain accurate records of all checks, isolations and reinstatements.
Liaise with site managers, coordinators, and other trades to ensure smooth workflow.
Work across multiple schemes, adapting to varied environments and project requirements.
Ensure all work complies with current gas safety legislation and company procedures.
Experience & Skills
Essential
Qualified Gas Engineer with relevant ACS certifications (e.g., CCN1, CENWAT, CPA1).
Full UK driving licence, able to drive.
Experience working on multi trade or multi-disciplinary projects.
Experience working with Gas for multiple years.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across multiple sites.
Good communication skills and a proactive approach to safety.
