Plumbing & Heating Engineer
Job Summary
The Plumbing & Heating Engineer will provide high quality plumbing, heating, and installation services within occupied social housing properties. The role includes responsive repairs, planned maintenance, boiler replacements, and the installation of new kitchens and bathrooms. Working in tenants’ homes requires a strong focus on customer care, professionalism, and safety at all times.
Daily Responsibility
Carry out plumbing and heating repairs, maintenance, and minor installations in occupied dwellings.
Diagnose faults and complete remedial works efficiently and to a high standard.
Install replacement boilers, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and manufacturer requirements.
Support the installation of new kitchens and bathrooms, including all associated plumbing works.
Undertake planned and reactive maintenance across a range of domestic systems.
Ensure all work is completed safely, respectfully, and with minimal disruption to tenants.
Maintain accurate job records, certificates, and compliance documentation.
Communicate clearly with tenants, supervisors, and other trades to support smooth project delivery.
Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection procedures at all times.
Flexibility is required to support reactive works, planned installations, and varied daily schedules.
Support other areas of the business on occasion as necessary.
Experience & Skills
Essential
Qualified Gas Engineer with relevant ACS certifications (e.g., CCN1, CENWAT, CPA1).
Full UK driving licence preferred due to travel between properties.
Qualified Plumbing & Heating Engineer with NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent.
Experience working in occupied social housing or domestic environments.
Competent in boiler replacements, plumbing installations, and bathroom/kitchen fit out plumbing.
Strong fault finding skills and ability to work independently.
Excellent customer service skills with a calm, respectful approach in tenants’ homes.
Knowledge of current plumbing, heating, and building regulations.
Desirable
Experience with renewables, such as ASHP, GSHP etc
